Scholarship Criteria

  1. The Valor Scholar Award

    1. Criteria: This scholarship is open to academically inclined students who are children of fallen military and first responders, dependents or loved ones of the military, as well as contractors that provide direct material support to deployed forces and First Responders (Police, Fire, Paramedics) in the performance of their duties. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and be able to provide proof of their academic achievements. In addition, they should have a record of community service or involvement in organizations related to veterans or first responders.

  2. The Star of Service: Performing Arts and Athletics Scholarship

    1. Criteria: This scholarship is designed to support individuals who excel in performing arts or athletics, and who are children of fallen military and first responders, dependents or loved ones of military, first responders, as well as contractors that provide direct material support to deployed forces and First Responders (Police, Fire, Paramedics) in the performance of their duties. Applicants must submit a portfolio or provide references attesting to their exceptional talent and dedication in their chosen field. They should also demonstrate a commitment to community engagement through their art or athletic endeavors.

    2. Amount: $500

  3. Empowered Women's Leadership Scholarship

    1. Criteria: This scholarship aims to empower and support young women who are children of fallen military and first responders, dependents or loved ones of the military, as well as contractors that provide direct material support to deployed forces and First Responders (Police, Fire, Paramedics) in the performance of their duties. Applicants should have a proven track record of leadership, which could be demonstrated through positions of responsibility in school, community, or extracurricular activities. They should also submit a personal statement outlining their leadership experiences and aspirations.

    2. Amount: $500

  4. Bridge to Success: Needs-Based Scholarship

    1. Criteria: This scholarship is intended for students who have demonstrated financial need, and who are children of fallen military and first responders, dependents or loved ones of the military as well as contractors that provide direct material support to deployed forces and First Responders (Police, Fire, Paramedics) in the performance of their duties. Applicants must provide documentation of their financial situation, such as a FAFSA report or an income statement. Additionally, they should submit a personal statement explaining their financial circumstances and how the scholarship would alleviate their financial burden.

  5. Bright Futures Scholarship for Students with Learning Disabilities

    1. Criteria: This scholarship is dedicated to students who have overcome learning disabilities and are children of fallen military and first responders, dependents or loved ones of the military as well as contractors that provide direct material support to deployed forces and First Responders (Police, Fire, Paramedics) in the performance of their duties. Applicants should provide documentation of their learning disability, such as an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a letter from a qualified professional. They should also submit a personal statement detailing their journey in overcoming challenges and their determination to succeed academically.

    2. Amount: $500

All applicants for these scholarships must also include an application form, along with either a letter or a video that highlights their accomplishments, goals, and how they embody the values of The Lucky Foundation (inclusivity, community, accountability, agility, and integrity) via email to the Scholarship Committee at [email protected]. The selection committee will evaluate applications based on the specific criteria outlined for each scholarship.
